The Boulevardier is a simple classic that has been coming back to popularity with a vengeance. To learn about the history of the cocktail, the NY Times posted a great article about it .  It is easy to make at home and classy to sip it at a nice, upscale cocktail lounge or martini bar. It also makes a great nightcap at the end of the night when you've over-indulged a bit. It’s simple, smooth, captivating, seductive, and sophisticated – it’s basically like drinking lingerie but you know, actually feasible.

Sometimes mistakenly called a whiskey Negroni, the Boulevardier cocktail actually predates the Negroni, a classic Italian favorite. A subtle combination of bourbon, sweet vermouth and Campari.  Try one of these for your next cocktail party and impress your friends.

For a twist, try a Pomegranate Boulevardier. The pomegranate flavor adds a bit of a seasonal fruit taste and sweetness!  This sweetness works really well with the rye and the Campari.  In this instance, it is kind of hard to stray from the regular Boulevardier, but the pomegranate gives you a little different cocktail perspective.
